In Carrier Command 2, aircraft have their own visuals which they can work as forward observers for the carrier to launch cruise missiles or artillery strikes. Of course, unlike the first Carrier Command, there are no neutral islands, so the player can't save time (and carrier fuel) by having a single AAV establish a base on an island while an aircraft with a signal booster flies around in support of the colonizing AAV.Ĭarrier Command had useless drones that were required for firing cruise missiles that were rendered useless by the fact that the drones didn't stay airborne long enough for the player to fire an effective amount of missiles at an enemy base. Telemetry signals are no longer an issue in Carrier Command 2, but that's largely due to the fact that the amount of fuel carried by the AAV's (Amphibious Assault Vehicles) is dramatically lower that telemetry range is moot.
